Production-Ready BYO-Storage (S3) & BYO-CDN (CloudFront) Integration
Connect your existing Amazon S3 buckets and CloudFront distributions directly with SmallPict. Transform images at the edge, store optimized AVIF/WebP assets into S3, and deliver them globally through CloudFront with 0% vendor lock-in.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) + Cloud CDN Integration
How your cloud storage origin, SmallPict's ephemeral optimization engine, and the global edge delivery network work in perfect harmony.
1. Dedicated Storage Origin
Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is an industry-standard cloud object storage service providing eleven nines of data durability, fine-grained access control, and infinite elastic scalability.
2. SmallPict Ephemeral Engine
SmallPict is a next-generation media optimization platform that seamlessly intercepts image uploads, converts them into modern AVIF and WebP formats in ephemeral memory buffers, strips redundant EXIF metadata, resizes dimensions, and pushes optimized files straight to your cloud storage bucket.
3. Global Edge CDN Delivery
Amazon CloudFront is a globally distributed content delivery network with hundreds of edge locations, providing origin shielding, TLS termination, and ultra-fast edge caching for S3 assets.
Visual Architecture & Integration Flow
End-to-end data trajectory: from user media upload to ephemeral in-memory transcoding, direct cloud bucket storage, and edge CDN cache delivery.
Upload & Interception
Assets are uploaded via WordPress plugin, web application, or REST API.
Ephemeral Optimization
SmallPict transcodes to AVIF/WebP, resizes dimensions, and strips metadata in volatile RAM (0% retention).
Direct Bucket Stream
Optimized files stream straight into your private or public Amazon S3 bucket.
Global Edge Caching
Cached across global PoPs with immutable 1-year Cache-Control headers.
Ultra-Fast Delivery
Visitors receive instant next-gen images with sub-25ms response times worldwide.
Built for Scale, Traffic Surges & Media Libraries
Explore how different digital applications leverage SmallPict with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to optimize media workflows.
E-Commerce Stores
Optimize product images, thumbnails, and zoom galleries stored in Amazon S3 before global CDN delivery. Speeds up page rendering, reduces bounce rates, and boosts mobile conversion.
Media & Publishing
Transcode extensive editorial archives and photography into lightweight AVIF/WebP formats without modifying your existing Amazon S3 folder hierarchy or storage architecture.
High-Traffic Websites
Reduce asset payloads by up to 88% while keeping Amazon Web Services (AWS) as your authoritative origin. Protects storage from excessive bandwidth charges during traffic surges.
Multi-Region Applications
Combine multi-region Amazon S3 buckets with Anycast CDN edge caching to ensure lightning-fast image delivery for distributed users across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
How to Connect Amazon Web Services (AWS) to SmallPict
A 4-step setup guide to provision buckets, configure least-privilege credentials, connect endpoints, and verify edge delivery.
Provision Dedicated Amazon S3 Bucket
Create a dedicated bucket or container in your Amazon Web Services (AWS) console (Standard storage class recommended).
Configure IAM / Scoped Credentials
Generate AWS Access Key ID & Secret / IAM Role with least-privilege permissions strictly scoped to read and write objects in your bucket.
Link Endpoint in SmallPict Dashboard
Enter your bucket name, region, endpoint, and API credentials into the SmallPict BYO settings panel.
Test & Verify Edge Asset Delivery
Upload a test asset or run an automated URL verification. Check response headers for Content-Type: image/avif and CDN cache HIT status.

}Why Use SmallPict with Amazon Web Services (AWS)?
5 strategic architectural advantages designed to eliminate vendor lock-in, reduce latency, and lower operational overhead.
Reduce Image Payload
Transcode PNG and JPEG to next-gen AVIF and WebP, shrinking asset weight by 70%–88% with zero human-perceivable degradation.
Keep Your Existing Storage
100% Bring-Your-Own-Storage (BYO). SmallPict integrates directly into your Amazon S3 bucket—no migrating to closed proprietary silos.
Global Edge Delivery
Maximize edge cache hit ratios with long-lived immutable cache headers across Amazon CloudFront global points of presence.
Automated Optimization
Fully automated background conversion upon upload or batch sync. Zero manual resizing or command-line scripting required.
Infrastructure Control
You retain complete ownership, access control policies, IAM boundaries, and compliance governance over your assets.
Drop-In Integration
Connect seamlessly via WordPress plugin, API, or dashboard. No infrastructure re-architecture, code refactoring, or database schema changes needed.
Security, Privacy & Access Control
No. SmallPict operates on a strict ephemeral in-memory processing architecture. Assets are compressed in isolated volatile RAM buffers and immediately streamed directly to your designated Amazon S3 bucket. SmallPict NEVER stores, retains, or maintains copies of your original or processed images on its servers.
Least-Privilege IAM
SmallPict requires only bucket-scoped read and write permissions (e.g. PutObject / GetObject). We never request or require administrative, project-wide, or account-wide credentials.
Private Bucket Support
Your Amazon S3 buckets do NOT need to be public. SmallPict writes directly using authenticated API calls, and asset delivery is routed securely via CDN Origin Access Control or signed origins.
AES-256 Encryption
All API tokens and credentials stored in SmallPict are encrypted at rest using AES-256 GCM envelope encryption and never logged in plaintext.
Customer Sovereignty
You retain 100% data ownership and sovereignty. You can revoke credentials or rotate keys at any time directly in your Amazon Web Services (AWS) console.

Performance Architecture Pillars
Cut Cloud Egress Bills by up to 85%
Why optimizing image weight directly lowers your cloud provider monthly invoice without paying inflated SaaS CDN markups.
Heavy Egress Bandwidth & Slower Pages
Raw, unoptimized JPEG/PNG images (2.5MB–5MB each) consume excessive storage and drive heavy outbound egress bandwidth charges from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- ✕Heavy 2.5MB - 5MB original image weights
- ✕Full cloud provider egress bandwidth charges
- ✕Higher LCP latency impacting Google search rankings
Up to 85% reduction in cloud provider egress bandwidth bills
80%–88% payload reduction directly slashes outbound data transfer volumes, reducing cloud provider egress bills by up to 85% every billing cycle.
- Sub-25ms response time from Amazon CloudFront Edge CDN
- You pay Amazon Web Services (AWS) directly at wholesale cloud rates without paying 5x–10x markups to proprietary closed-silo image CDNs.
- Over 99% CDN edge cache hit ratio
